Keen to tackle vision problems in young generations, Magrabi Foundation dedicates a comprehensive program to primary public schools all over Egypt. The Foundation constantly targets groups who are especially at a higher risk for developing lifelong visual impairment. With expertise, we work hard in resolving refractive errors, which is the leading cause for avoidable visual impairment among children. We also adopt a cost efficient approach that generates solid scientific evidence, to promote effective outcomes and impact. Effectively, our participatory approach has led to many partnerships and collaborations over the years, and thus, guaranteeing efficient results. Magrabi Foundation believes in the right of every member of the society to have adequate access to healthcare services. Because of that, we devote outreach visits to underprivileged areas all around Egypt. During those visits, a specialized team of well-trained eye healthcare team perform examination, and prescribe spectacles and treatments, with the latest medical equipment in addition to providing awareness to the target population. While hundreds of beneficiaries in one visit are medicated and nursed, those who need further investigation or surgeries are referred to our optimal secondary and tertiary services.

Visual Rehabilitation Services

We work hard to provide Visual Rehabilitation Services as part of our comprehensive scheme for those in our community who live with visual impairment. The goal is to improve their capabilities, expand their opportunities and reinforce their roles in the society.

• Hundreds were trained to use computers and improve their soft skills, in collaboration with Vodafone Foundation and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
• Several academic books were printed in Braille for universities and different schools.
• 10,000 copies of quarterly of “Helm Magazine” were printed in Braille
• 2,000 books were dedicated for people with visual impairment, as part of a project from Vodafone Foundation.
• Magrabi Foundation is an active member in the Egyptian Community Based Rehabilitation Network
